• HIGHLAND MARY: Comforting and warm . . . The Highland Mary Trail near Silverton, CO is a fairly challenging trail that takes you up to high altitude lakes and spectacular views above 12,000ft. Besides the alpine lakes, the trail is gorgeous with amazing waterfalls and fields of wildflowers.

• ICE LAKE: Clean, sweet and crisp . . . One of our very favorite trails climbs from South Mineral campground near Silverton, CO up to Ice Lakes. The stunning scenery at the top and, really, all the way up the trail make this hike worth the effort! The first part of the hike switchbacks through a forested mountainside, crossing a mountain stream several times as well a great view of a waterfall. Once out of the tree line, you are surrounded by alpine meadows filled with wildflowers. Pushing onward and upward gets you to the top and beautiful Ice Lake.
Emily’s Homestead’s Ice Lake candle is sweet and reminiscent of the brisk wind that is almost continuous on mountain peaks. Sweeping across the water, it brings a freshness from the beautiful alpine meadows.

• QUANDARY PEAK: Fresh, spicy and rich . . . One of Colorado's 14ers, this one is not the most technical but is nothing but rocks by the top. And, as anyone who's hiked over 14,000ft can attest, the blustery wind can be intense.
Emily’s Homestead’s Quandary Peak candle has a complex scent that makes me think of a cozy farmhouse kitchen on a blustery winter's day. When I'm hiking a cold, gusty, rocky trail, most of the time I'm thinking how wonderful it will be to get down and into my warm home again.
