Emily’s Homestead created the 6+ oz Ayurvedic shampoo bar for those who might be experiencing poor hair and scalp health.

-Coconut milk contains essential nutrients for healthy hair; boosting hair follicle production and promotes hair growth. High in lauric acid, protein and many vitamins, coconut milk conditions and strengthens the cuticle.

-Bhringraj promotes hair growth and strengthens hair follicles, as well as providing many other benefits.

-Shikakai is rich in antioxidants and vitamins A, C, K, and D, which help nourish hair and keep it healthy.

-Amla is an Indian gooseberry is packed with Vitamin C and thus loaded with antioxidants.

-Brahmi is a valuable ayurvedic herb. Rich in vitamin C and antioxidant properties, Brahmi helps to strengthen the hair follicles and reduce hair fall.

-Sesame oil is enriched with Vitamin E, B complex, and minerals such as magnesium, calcium, phosphorus, and protein that strengthen the hair from the roots and give deep nourishment.

-Mustard seed helps promote hair growth and strengthens and conditions hair. Mustard seeds contain protein, calcium, vitamin A and E, omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. 

Scented with lavender, ylang-ylang, lime, rosemary & sage essential oils, this bar has a spicy, floral scent that is quite pleasing and not too strong.

Product Description: This listing is for 1 bar of Ayurvedic Shampoo. Each bar is at least 6 ounces. Due to the handcrafted nature of the bars, they will differ slightly in appearance.

Ingredients: {Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Castor Oil, Sesame Oil, Sweet Almond Oil - infused with Bhrinjaraj, Shikakai, Amla, Brahmi, Mustard Seed, Sweet Cinnamon Chips, and Cloves}, Distilled water, Sodium Hydroxide (Lye), Beer, Aloe Juice, Coconut Milk, Fenugreek powder, Hibiscus Powder, and Essential Oils of: Lavender, Cedarwood, Sage, Ylang Ylang, Rosemary, Lime, Vetiver, and Carrot Seed.

Particulars: Handcrafted shampoo bars do not contain synthetic detergents (like commercial shampoos) so they don't strip your hair and scalp of the natural oils which keep your hair and scalp healthy and protected. Your scalp produces less oil when it is not continually being stripped down and becomes less oily with prolonged shampoo bar use. Shampoo bars are easy to use - either work up a lather in your hands and then work into your hair or rub the bar onto the scalp directly. You are mainly trying to cleanse your scalp and then if you wish you can lightly work the lather down the ends of your hair. **PLEASE NOTE** If you are new to shampoo bars, you might have a transition period where your scalp hasn't gotten the message to stop overproducing oil since it is no longer being stripped. This oily period usually lasts for about 2 weeks although many people don't notice a significant change.

The soap is amazing. It lathers so well and the best part is that it’s all natural ingredients which are the best for your hair! Hair felt clean and soft after the wash!

I've been using Emily's Ayurvedic Shampoo bar for 6-7 yrs now. I found it when I was experiencing excessive hair shed due to stress which it helped. Problem solved and I continue to use this bar. I alternate with Emily's Rosemary Mint Shampoo bar. I cut each in quarters which fit in my hand perfectly. I keep a supply on hand so I never run out,

Hair Returns

Emily's Ayurvedic was the first shampoo bar I tried. I found it several years ago and will never go back to commercially manufactured liquid shampoos.

I was experiencing extreme hair loss during a very stressful time in my life. Use of this shampoo bar and life stress neutralizing, my hair was fuller and more bodied then it has ever been. I have fine hair; using this bar and following advise included as to how to transition to using bars, my hair was transformed.

I alternate between the Ayurvedic bar and Emily's Rosemary Mint Shampoo Bar. Slicing bars in quarters makes perfect fit into hand. I also use Emily's Solid Conditioning Bar on the ends of my hair for more ease to comb out.

I camp a lot and these bars make hair washing a breeze. Great relief to avoid plastic bottles that have become so difficult to recycle.
