One of my very favorite trails climbs from South Mineral campground near Silverton, CO up to Ice Lakes. The deep, clear ice-blue of the lake might have been the reason for its name or it might have come from the shocking temperature of the high altitude water. Either way, the stunning scenery at the top and, really, all the way up the trail make this hike worth the effort! The first part of the hike switchbacks through a forested mountainside, crossing a mountain stream several times as well a great view of a waterfall. Once out of the tree line, you are surrounded by alpine meadows filled with wildflowers. Pushing onward and upward gets you to the top and beautiful Ice Lake.
Emily’s Homestead’s Ice Lake candle is reminiscent of the brisk wind that is almost continuous on mountain peaks. Sweeping across the water, it brings a freshness from the beautiful alpine meadows. Hand poured in Bailey, Colorado USA; in the front range of the Rocky Mountains.
